The show, Through the Eyes of Four Photographers, takes place at Augustus Brandt dealership. It unites works by Brian Griffin, Andrew Holligan, Bruce Rae and Gerry Castle. All were artists whose work Arden admired and whom he came to work with and know.

Though the photographers in this show have different and distinctive styles, they offer an idea of the advertising man’s taste. Some of the works on offer are from Arden’s personal collection.

Griffin is an award-winning portrait artist well-known by celebrities and musicians. Rae uses vintage photographic techniques to produce still-lifes in salt and gelatin silver prints.

Some of Holligan’s photos are close-ups focusing on whitewash found on windows of closed-down shops, while a recently published series he produced focuses on Dalston in East London in the 1980s. Finally, Castle was a hospital technician whose images of Liverpool record the city as it was in the 1950s and 60s.

Prices for the works range from £800-5000 and the show continues until July 14.

Arden worked at Saatchi & Saatchi through the 1980s and was a guiding hand behind memorable campaigns including the British Airways face advertisement, The Independent (‘It is. Are you?’) and the slashed purple material for Silk Cut cigarettes.
