The first full week of the month kicks off with two antiques auctions in Cumbria – the regular weekly sales of 1818 Auctioneers in Milnthorpe and at H&H Auction Rooms in Carlisle, both on March 4.

Next up is in Penrith at PKF’s fine furniture, rugs and carpets auction on March 6, followed by Thomson Roddick’s March 14 antiques and works of art sale in Carlisle.

But it isn’t just auctions for your diary.

For antiques fans hoping to make a weekend of it, Cumbria Tourism and The Rothay Manor Hotel in Ambleside is hosting a ‘Short Break for Collectors’ holiday – a five-night break starting on March 17.
