Many of the 15 lots related to the queen at the May 6 sale at NL Auction Rooms in Finchley are originally from the estate of former Royal Household member Charles Thomson.
Queen Victoria’s favourite dog was Sharp, a Border Collie that she owned between 1866-79. The memento mori includes a porcelain photographic plaque with a lock of its hair and is estimated at £150-£250.
Other highlights include a pair of 18ct yellow gold cufflinks in a Collingwood & Co box monogrammed VR (Victoria Regina) c.1897 which were a gift to Thomson from the queen. They are estimated at £350-£525.
Another gift to Thomson from the queen was a cased Carrington & Co tortoishell and silver page turner (c. 1897) which is estimated at £250-£350.
A Goliath pocket watch from the queen to Thomson for Christmas 1900, less than a month before she died on January 22, 1901, is estimated at £300-£600.
