Christie’s South Kensington closed its vintage poster department, switching instead to selling posters through online auctions. Specialists Nicolette Tomkinson and Sophie Churcher leave. Christie’s had held regular poster sales since 1984.

A return to dealing for Nicholas Hall, who left his position of international head of Old Master and 19th century paintings at Christie’s. He had joined Christie’s New York in 2004 following the auctioneer’s acquisition of Hall & Knight, the gallery he opened in 1996 with former Colnaghi colleague Richard Knight.

Joseph Trinder of Wotton Auctions became the youngest-ever president of The National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (NAVA) this year when he was appointed aged just 23.

Coin specialist Tom Eden officially retired from Morton & Eden after 47 years in the industry, having begun his career in numismatics in 1969. He remains a consultant for the firm he founded in 2001 with James Morton.

French national antique dealers association Syndicat National des Antiquaires (SNA) appoints Mathias Ary Jan as new president.
