Leslie & Baggott
Two former auction house professionals have teamed up to form a Dumfriesshire dealership. Miranda Leslie was managing director of Bonhams Scotland for 10 years and previously worked for Christie’s jewellery.
She is joined by Henry Baggott, a former Bonhams specialist of six years and previously the owner of an antiquarian bookshop down south, in Stow on the Wold, for 10 years.

The new shop, Leslie & Baggott, is in a 16th century house, Isle Tower, and is fully furnished with all items for sale. Each piece is to feature a detailed tag with price, condition and history. It also offers advisory service on buying and selling.
Also joining the team is Alex Leslie, a journalist of more than 10 years, who is responsible for the company’s communications and website.

Fiumano Clase
Contemporary gallery Fiumano Projects merged with Orion Contemporary last month to become Fiumano Clase. Dealers Andrés Clase and Francesa Fiumano have collaborated on exhibitions and projects in the past.
With this latest venture, the two hope to build on existing relationships they have established with artists and collectors during their respective careers. Each has been an art world professional for the past 16 years.

Gallery Yacou
Antique, decorative and contemporary carpet specialist Gallery Yacou has relocated to a larger studio and workshop in north London after 23 years on Fulham Road in the west of the capital.
The dealership, which is headed by Robin Yacoubian, is open by appointment only and will continue to have a presence in central London with its attendance at various fairs.

The new studio means more space for the family-run business to exhibit its wide selection of pieces.

Il Paralume
Il Paralume, which offers decorative lighting, seating furniture and objects, has opened its first UK shop on Fulham’s Lillie Road.
Founder Cesare Fusco got his start in Rome after years as a collector before moving to the UK and opening up a comparable business in 2013.

The dealership – named after the Italian word for ‘lampshade’ – offers designer furniture items from Italy and beyond. Among those designers represented are Paolo Venini, Gio Ponti and Emil Stejnar.
As well as the shop, visitors can find Il Paralume online and regularly at The Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair in Battersea.

De Jonckheere
The Old Master and modern art specialist De Jonckheere hopes to encourage the growing art scene in Monaco, where it has a launched a new branch.
The gallery’s Laura de Jonckheere says: “We found an opportunity to move into this great space and, with great enthusiasm, we jumped at it.” Since the space opened in June, the dealership has held two exhibitions.

The third show, Paysages de Neige, combining traditional winter landscape and modern pieces, starts on December 7.
