A round-up of the week’s top stories
The pair, who have a combined 55 years’ experience as dealers, first worked together at fairs more than 20 years ago and later ran separate companies. The pair formalised the new business, Kingham & Orme Auctioneers, in September 2016 and plan at least three fine art, antiques and collectables auctions this year.
The company has a valuation desk in the High Street in Broadway and storage and offices nearby. Auctions will be held in the village’s Lifford Hall.
Kingham said: “We fancied a new challenge. We were being offered things that we couldn’t sell so we decided to change what we do and become auctioneers.”
The February sale has 582 lots with a combined low estimate of around £300,000. The price guides range from £20 to £45,000 and include three Martin Brothers birds and a Gordon Russell longcase clock.
The sales will be taken by independent auctioneer Mark Littler and will also be hosted on thesaleroom.com.
