Northern Lights, which runs until July 30, features a selection by LS Lowry and his contemporaries such as Adolphe Valette and Theodore Major.

The gallery has long represented Lowry and suggests that, in these “uncertain economic times”, now is the perfect opportunity to invest in an artist whose popularity is so enduring.

The event also showcases newer works by artists whom the gallery represents, including Ben Kelly, Stacey Manton and Clark Art’s best-selling artist Reg Gardner. In all, more than 110 paintings and 24 artists are on show.

The gallery’s Bill Clark told ATG that more than two-thirds of the paintings sold on opening night but new works will be added regularly throughout the exhibition’s run.
