Collector and author Maurice Collins will contribute a selection of the mechanical rarities and curiosities he has assembled over 40 years to a display at the upcoming Antiques for Everyone.
An early wood chopper, a head measurer, foot warmer and a ladies’ detective bag are among the pieces that he will include in the exhibition, From Victoria to George VI: Gadgets, Gizmos and Thingamajigs. The pieces are selected from the 1500 objects in his collection.
Collins is from east London, served in the Royal Air Force and later started his own printing company specialising in boxed games and cartons.
