Golding Young & Mawer will offer a Fabergé silver and green guilloche enamel egg for sale in Lincoln on September 20.
Consigned by a local collector, the egg – not from the jewellers’ imperial output – stands 5in (12.5cm) high and has marks for both the Fabergé workshop mark and workmaster Henrik Wigström (1862-1923).
The hinged lid has a stylised pineapple finial and a spider shaped mount inset with cabochon rubies and illusion set diamonds, enclosing a blue platform mounted with a fantail goldfish. The base is applied with swags on an elephant shaped column and circular base.
The egg is estimated at £5000-8000.
