The militaria and ethnographica collection of civil servant and financial expert De Weledg Heer P Lamaison Van Heenvliet (1857-1941)from Rotterdam will be offered at Tennants of Leyburn on September 29.
The items include spears, clubs, shields, guns, knives and other tribal and military artefacts from all round the globe.
Among the highlights is a Japanese 18th century Edo Period suit of armour from the Tokugawa clan, estimated at £4000-6000. This 17th century Edo Period black lacquer shield, painted with a coat of arms and monogram, is guided at £2500-3500.
