These include Broadway Market – “a bustling hub for Hackney hipsters and East End creatives” according to Time OutChatsworth Road Market and the oldest of them all, Hoxton Street Market, established in 1687.

Into this mix comes the Kingsland Market, relaunched at the end of July, which will now run every Saturday on Kingsland Road between The Fox and Haggerston pubs.

This market has a long history. Opened in 1880 as a ‘waste’ market for people to trade their unwanted goods, it ran for 135 years, closing only in 2015.

Its revamp by Hackney Council as a retro/vintage market will include stallholders selling vintage fashion and homewares, gardenalia, mid-century and retro furniture.

The organisers are also on the look-out for stallholders selling out-of-print books, militaria and prints.
