Sold for €60,000 (£51,960) as part of the botanical section of a Reiss & Sohn (18% buyer’s premium) series of auctions held from October 30-November 1 was an exceptional set of this five-volume work of 1829-34.

Handsomely bound in contemporary red half calf gilt, it was once part of the private library of Emperor Francis I of Austria.
