The late Dorothy McEwan.
Dorothy (1925-2017) opened her first shop The Snuff Box in Braemar, Aberdeenshire in 1962 before later setting up a dealership in Boston, Massachusetts while her husband Peter was teaching at Harvard.
Returning to Scotland, she established the McEwan Gallery in Aberdeenshire, which has now been going for over 50 years and continues to be run by her son Rhod.
