Dreweatts will launch its 2018 sales calendar in Donnington Priory on January 23-25 with a large three-day sale from a private single-owner collection.
Assembled over 30 years from the mid-1970s, the auction comprises 750 lots of art and antiques, ranging from £60-40,000. Titled An Eye for Luxury: East Meets West, the sale includes pieces originating from Europe, the Orient and the Middle East, including silver, ceramics, furniture, pictures, antiquities, works of art and glassware dating from antiquity to the late 20th century.
A leading lot is this set of five beakers made from 22ct gold by How of Edinburgh, London 1966, probably as a special commission. Decorated with a band of Celtic motifs, the group is estimated at £30,000-40,000.
