This market hits a street which already has 80 dealers in antiques, art and design, such as Marylebone Antiques, Cutler and Gross Vintage and the Daniel Raphael Gallery plus independent local and designer shops. Add to this 70 well-known dealers on the day including Samaya Ling, a top name in vintage fashion, Marianne Wilkins with art from the 18th-20th centuries and James Petrie of Quirky Interiors in Hertfordshire.
Stephen Sprake, co-organiser of this event with Leon Young, both dealers on Church Street, said: “Last year’s event was an unqualified success, bringing those in-the-know and newbies to the antiques and art mecca of Church Street NW8.
“This year’s Antiques Anonymous promises more. Our idea is to cherry-pick the best antiques traders from around the UK to pitch up and share the spoils of London’s newest flea market. Prices range from very little to not-so-very-little.”
Young added: “Visitors to the flea market can expect a day of fun, food and community spirit, as well as the opportunity to discover and buy eclectic, unusual and exquisite items for sale.”
It is part-funded by Westminster City Council as part of Church Street’s regeneration programme. Attractions include pop-up shops, live music, exhibitions, lots of food stalls and famous and not so famous people-watching opportunities.
