The selected antiques dealer will receive a free standard outside pitch worth £100-plus.

The competition is open to anyone who has never previously stalled out at one of its fairs, and in return the organiser would like to follow and film or photograph the dealer on the journey to their first fair.

Grant Nicholas, IACF’s marketing and communications manager, said: “This would be the trip from the dealer’s home, though obviously not every mile of the way.

“The only requisites are that they have not stood at an IACF fair before – or at least for some considerable time – and are also prepared to be filmed or photographed at various stages including during the fair.”

Nicholas added that filming will “not be Big Brother-style”, but for IACF to give potential dealers “a better understanding of what is involved and to show there is no need to feel daunted by the size of these events, rather to know just how easy and how much fun it can be to have a stall at a major fair”.

Depending how many people come forward, IACF may offer “several free pitches, possibly for each of our fairs”.
