The exhibition runs until November 4 featuring gouaches, pencil studies and some of Ellis’ 1930s designs for London Underground and Shell advertisements. Six large oil paintings are also on offer.

Ellis was known in his day as the head of the Bath Academy of Art, where he worked alongside artists such as Walter Richard Sickert, Peter Lanyon and Terry Frost. Works by these artists as well as those by his wife Rosemary and daughter Penelope are also on offer. Prices range from £500-18,500.

The display will move to the dealership’s Somerset location from November 12-25 (by appointment only).
