This small bisque doll with jointed limbs sold for £1200 at Mitchells’ toys sale at Cockermouth on July 21
It was identified as German Kestner ‘wrestler’ mignonette, or ‘pocket’, doll – the term wrestler alluding to the series’ chunky bodies. At 7in (18cm), it was taller than the usual 4½-6in (12- 15cm) and in good condition.
It sold to a collector at £1200.
