An extensive private collection of Doulton Lambethware and other British art potteries is included in a dedicated British pottery auction at Tennants of Leyburn, North Yorkshire, on September 8.
The collection was formed by Myra and David Turner, who began collecting ceramics shortly after their marriage in 1959. During the 1970s their focus turned to Doulton Lambethware, and particularly the work of studio artists Hannah and Florence Barlow, George Tinworth and Eliza Simmance.
A Doulton Lambeth stoneware vase (above) by Simmance, decorated with a red squirrel eating a nut, is guided at £250-350.

Affordable silver by the great silversmith Paul Storr (1771-1844) will go under the hammer in a fine and decorative art sale at Richard Winterton Auctioneers on September 19 in Lichfield, Staffordshire.
A 9in (23cm) wide George III silver salver (above), weighing approximately 17.3oz, is guided at £250-350, while a Coburg pattern silver tablespoon from the same period is estimated at £120-180.
For a decade from 1839-49, the English watercolour painter and lithographer Joseph Nash (1809-78) travelled throughout England making accurate and detailed sketches of famous Tudor and Stuart country houses.
Rather than depicting just an image of the buildings and rooms, Nash opted to bring the scenes to life with romantic tableau of Tudor and Stuart domestic life.
He compiled them into a lavish four-volume titled The Mansions of England in the Olden Times, which became an instant success and brought him to the attention of Queen Victoria.
Five watercolour illustrations used in the book will go under the hammer at Peter Wilson on September 12-13 in Nantwich, Cheshire. This 11 x 16in (28 x 40cm) scene of the dining room at Haddon Hall in Derbyshire, above, is guided at £300-500.

A 10½in (27cm) wide Fulham studio pottery circular plate by Quentin Bell (1910-96) features in a sale of Arts & Crafts furniture, works of art studio pottery and 20th century design at Toovey’s in West Sussex on September 7.
The piece, painted and incised with a maiden wearing flowers in her hair and contained within a blue and green rim, is guided at £100-150.
