RJ Berry’s Natural History of Orkney, published in 1985 from the New Naturalist series, sold for £620 at Keys’ auction.
When published in 1985 it cost £20, as the unclipped dust jacket on this example still reveals, but this copy made £620 in an August 30-31 sale held by Keys (20% buyer’s premium) of Aylsham.
Another first state rarity of that same year, Eric Simms’ British Warblers (No 71), made £600.
