Business at this site 20 miles from Norwich is steadily building up and has had a positive local response, said Knight.
The couple retired from the pub trade two years ago and it was only then that they could follow their dream of opening an antiques centre. They chose Diss for two reasons. “The town is right on the halfway point with Suffolk so there are customers from both counties, and also TW Gaze, the auction house, is based in the town,” Knight said.
“We have 30 traders here selling vintage and antiques and would welcome, say, five more, especially dealers in mid-century furniture.
“We have also been joined as business partners in our venture here by two of our traders, Wendy and Andrew Faulkner.”
Newmarket fair
Sticking with East Anglia, in Suffolk this weekend, on Sunday, February 10, Peter Barrows of Associated Collectors’ Events runs the first of his four annual antiques, collectables and 20th century fairs. Up to 200 stands are expected at this event held at Newmarket Racecourse.
