The show runs until April 27 at Kings Place, the arts hub in London’s King’s Cross. It is part of the larger event Venus Unwrapped which focuses on female composers.

Piano Nobile’s exhibition features works from across Cooke’s career including a series of paintings she made while visiting her holiday home at Birling Gap in Sussex. There she would walk along the chalky white cliffs with her young children and climb down to the beach, exploring the caves and crevices along the coast.

Like many of these compositions, Cave Painting I depicts a cave from within looking out to sea. Other works included in the show feature her intimate observations of interiors and domestic life.
