The suitcase bears the monogram BKN Wyllie, suggesting that it originally belonged to the head geologist for British Petroleum working in South America. Offered for £1095, it features the original top tray, polished brass lock, leather-bound corners with handles to either side. It is finished with polished brass keeps and leather belts with brass buckle fasteners.

According to the dealer, interior designers frequently use such pieces for bedside tables and coffee tables.

The fair takes place from June 7-9 at Wentworth Woodhouse, the South Yorkshire Grade I-listed home with the longest façade of any country house in England.
