Born in Birmingham, Unite worked in partnership with James Hilliard until 1845 when he continued the business under his own name.

In the market town of Alnwick in Northumberland stands the Adam Robertson Memorial Fountain – an ornate working drinking fountain in the Italian Renaissance style which commemorates the benefactor who gifted it in the late 19th century.
Robertson was a native of Alnwick: a leading figure in local politics and the founder of a local firm of decorators.
This original late 19th century working model of the fountain is on offer at Newcastle saleroom Anderson & Garland in a two-day sale on June 18-19.
