Some condition problems were evident: a replacement back leg, some missing or replaced veneers and mouldings and a split to the side.
Nevertheless, pitched at £400-600 its basic quality resulted in a trade bid of £6800 – a solid price that would not have seemed lightweight a decade or so ago.
