A scrapbook collection of cardboard tops from pre-war milk bottles sold for £1200 at Halls on March 6.
This truth universally known, at last among auctioneers, was affirmed when bidders whose passion is cardboard tops of pre-war milk bottles competed for a scrapbook collection offered at Halls (23% buyer’s premium) in Shrewsbury on March 6.
Comprising about 580 such British caps from the 1930s-40s, some of which are illustrated, the album was guided at £100-150 but sold at £1200.
