In a jewellery auction on May 21 in Boston, Skinner, will be offering a3 x 2in (8 x 5cm) plaque depicting figures mourning at the tomb of Napoleon on St Helena. Catalogued as probably Italy c.1830, it has an estimate of $2000-3000.

A week later in Philadelphia, as part of its May 29 international auction, Freeman’s will be offering a larger 11 x 16¾in (28 x 42cm) 19th century plaque featuring a view of the Colosseum. It has an estimate of $15,000-25,000.
