On the back of this, the organisers of the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Sale chose the Turner Contemporary’s car park for a new venture with Tracey Emin, Margate’s most famous daughter, as the star attraction.
She was among the contemporary artists selling their works from the back of a van last year.
Coinciding with the Turner Prize opening at Turner Contemporary, the Art Car Boot is back in Margate on Saturday, September 28.
Although Emin is unlikely to be an exhibitor this year, among the 120 artists selling across 90 pitches at Dreamland on Marine Parade are Polly Morgan, Rob and Roberta Smith, Marcus Harvey and Matt Collishaw. The event runs from 1-5pm.
