Instead, we could have spent BADA reserves ensuring the fair continued as it was, but then in a few years, run out of money. At that point, BADA members would rightly ask, why didn’t you sell the fair when it was a viable proposition?

Better to have taken the decision now, to make the fair sustainable for years to come, in particular for BADA members. As Marco Forgione, BADA’s chief executive has outlined (ATG No 2409), benefits and discounts for BADA members are enshrined in the deal.

The new fair’s adoption of BADA’s strict vetting procedures will ensure standards remain high, pushing exhibitors to look hard at what they’re buying, to the best of their knowledge and with integrity.
