They were assembled by Charles F May, whose career as a flight attendant often brought him to Brazil.
Haroldo was born in 1911 in Rio de Janiero. His jewellery specialises in freeform designs and often uses gemstones such as tourmalines topazes, garnets and rubies, stones native to Brazil.
Pictured here are two of the lots from the sale. The gold ring and pendant brooch set with topaz, tourmaline and brilliant cut diamonds is estimated at $1500-2000. The 18ct brushed and polished gold bracelet has an estimate of $1000-1500.
