An album c.1887 containing 64 albumen prints by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe of Whitby is on offer at Swann estimated at $7000-10,000.
The estimate is $7000-10,000 in the Classic & Contemporary Photographs sale on February 25.
Sutcliffe (1853-1941) and his family moved to Whitby in 1870 and Frank began as a photographer at the age of 18 after his father died. As well as depicting the harbour and the surrounding area, the seaside town’s working people were a favourite subject.
