On the back of this simple piece of aluminium, with red and blue perspex panels to the front, a piece of velco states The original badge of rank of General Maximilian Veers in The Empire Strikes Back, played by Julian Glover.
The message was written by Glover himself, who has consigned 250 lots to the saleroom, including his costume and script from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, after a lockdown ‘sort out’. East Bristol said the actor had “lots more” 30 years ago but binned items he thought had no value.
This badge was one of several made for his Star Wars character and when filming completed he was given this example by the costume department as a souvenir. It is offered with an autographed photograph of Glover as Veers wearing a similar badge.
