One of the potential highlights is a little 3¼in (8cm) high cameo glass perfume bottle which is finely carved to both sides with rural landscapes set within cartouches.

In the auction house’s opinion, the detailed and delicate execution of this decoration make it attributable to the master glass artist George Woodall (1850-1925), who worked for the West Midlands glass manufacturing firm of Thomas Webb & Sons.

The bottle has a provenance to a New York collection and is estimated at $15,000-25,000.

This wide-ranging sale also includes a selection of English Arts & Crafts items. Among the many examples of metalware featured is a 13½in (34cm) wide Liberty & Co Tudric pewter bowl designed by Archibald Knox and decorated with a characteristic Celtic-style motif.

The bowl, which has a provenance to a New England collection, has an estimate of $500-700.
