Freedom of the Human Spirit is a small scale cast of the massive bronze sculpture of that name that was made for the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair by Fredericks, who was chosen from a shortlist of American sculptors for the commission. Casts such as this serve as the annual Freedom of the Human Spirit Award given by the International Center for the Disabled.

Stair’s cast has the artist‘s copyright and incised signature lower right and is set on a black marble base with a plaque from the ICD/Freedom of the Human Spirit Award.

Estimate $12,000-18,000.
