This is a charitable interpretation, given the act’s inability to satisfy its erroneous claim to save elephants, and its catastrophic effect on the antique ivory market.
A key question remains. Whom or which institutions does one now see, in order to establish – before the Ivory Act is introduced – whether or not one’s ivory is of outstanding artistic, cultural or historic significance?
Without this critical information, one cannot make a sensible and informed decision, in respect of selling.
