Taylor, who is a frequent exhibitor at events such as the Decorative Antiques & Textiles Fair in Battersea, is opening two new galleries located at 313-315 Lillie Road. An opening night is planned for July 1, from 7pm.
The galleries will feature Taylor’s signature style – he specialises in Mid-century and industrial lighting, furniture, aeronautical antiques posters and other decorative items – in addition to 18th and 19th century rustic furniture, antique Kilims, carpets and rugs, pottery and modern art.
Taylor told ATG: “It’s a step up. The shop in Spitalfields was just a pop-up so it wasn’t going to last. When the Lillie Road shops became available I knew they would get snapped up so I took them.”
The new premises open with an exhibition of recent works by Tannaz Oroumchi concentrating on different perceptions of space and its use in an urban setting. It runs until August 26 with monthly Contemporary art exhibitions planned to follow.
