The originals of this design were made by the French atelier, c.1938, with a similar bracelet produced two years later to mark the release of Pinocchio.

They are hugely popular in the market: one sold for $65,000 at Doyle in New York in October 2020.

This humbler example, made in gilt metal rather than 14ct gold, is not in the same league but it nonetheless took a surprise £850 (estimate £30-40) at the Cotswold Auction Company (22% buyer’s premium) in Cirencester on May 18.

The Snow White charm had a substantial chip; otherwise it could have brought more. At New Jersey firm Rago in October 2020 another sold at $3500.
