One of the highlights on June 21-22 was what the saleroom described as a “magnificent” pair of Tula Arsenal, Russia, 16-bore, silver and gilt-mounted flintlock pistols dated for 1742 which sold for a hammer price of £27,000 against an estimate of £5000-7000.

Also noteworthy was the level of interest in an “extremely rare” Wilkinson Sword Commercial Mk1 Fairburn Sykes dagger 1941-42 which sold for a hammer price of £4100 (guide £1000-1500).
