Bismuth had eclectic tastes in art which embraced Old Masters and classic French furniture as well as Modern paintings and design and he collected throughout his life. The 100-plus lots in the sale range from 17th century still-lifes and classic 18th century French furnishings and tribal art to Abstract paintings by the Portuguese painter Maria Elena Vieira da Silva (1908-92) and the COBRA artist Asgar Jorn (1914-73).

Pictured here is one of his Modern works of art, a 14 x 22in (36.5 x 55.5cm) drawing for a sculpture by Henry Moore (1898-1986) in pencil, ink, chalk and wash on paper, signed and dated 1935 lower left.

The drawing, which is registered in the Henry Moore Archives and reproduced in several publications on the artist, has an estimate of €10,000-12,000.
