The 12¼ x 10¼in (31 x 26cm) illustration, made with opaque watercolour with gold on paper, originates from 19th century Nathdwara in the western region of Rajasthan.
Navneetpriyaji is worshiped in the Vallabha sect founded by Indian philosopher Vallabhacharya Mahaprabhu (1479-1531).
St James’s gallery Joost van den Bergh has priced it in the region of £5000 as part of its exhibition during Asian Art in London
