The 107-lot auction includes pieces by some of the best-known names in European, British and American watchmaking. One of the sale’s highlights is an astronomical quarter repeating watch made by the famous watchmaker Abraham-Louis Breguet.
Breguet No 2835, which was sold on March 23, 1815, has a gilt brass 19-calibre repeater movement contained in an 18ct gold two-part engine-turned case made by Pierre-Benjamin Travernier and features an engine-turned dial that has a roman numeral chapter ring, subsidiary seconds, a slow/fast regulator indicator and a moon phase aperture.
The estimate is $100,000-150,000.
