First, on October 10, will be the collection of Lady Victoria White of Beverly Hills, California. Then, on October 24, comes the first of a series of sales of the collection of John Nelson, the man behind the eponymous John Nelson Antiques of Los Angeles.

Lady White’s collection will feature furniture and decorative arts including silver, oriental and European ceramics and an extensive library of books. Her life-long love of horses is reflected in several paintings by Sir Alfred Munnings (1878-1959) including a 20in x 2ft (51 x 61cm) work from 1922, Kilkenny Horse Fair, top, estimated at $200,000-300,000.
