As Mr Braka says, ARR is fundamentally an immoral tax that mainly benefits the economically inactive and undeserving descendants of well-established artists such as Picasso, Matisse, Chagall etc at the expense of economically active and often extremely hard-pressed dealers.
Why can’t this ridiculous, virtue-signalling tax be consigned to the dustbin as part of the much vaunted but rarely seen ‘Brexit dividend’?
Free up the British art market from the hobbling of its red tape-ridden former overseers and allow it to thrive as it should.
