A one-off Italian carved wood polychrome centre table by Amulet Berton (1875-1967) is on offer from Loveday Antiques for £65,000.
Made c.1920-30, the table features an elongated cartouche-shaped top with a radial pattern of onyx within a moulded border.
It is above a polychrome and parcel-gilt frame carved with tree branches, leaves, grapes, snails, lizards and dragonflies. At the centre, a finial is carved with two doves eating grapes. The table is inspired by Venetian designs combining rococo and naturalistic elements.
