Christie’s Paris rooms will offer the fine and decorative arts collection of Hubert de Givenchy (1927-2018) in a series of live and online sales in June. The collection of over 1200 lots includes French and European furniture and works of art, sculpture and paintings from Old Masters to Modern and Contemporary works and is drawn from two of de Givenchy’s homes: The Hôtel d’Orrouer in Paris and the Château du Jonchet in the Loire Valley.

The live sales will be held in Paris from June 14-17 with a dedicated online sale staged from June 8-23. A pre-sale exhibition takes place in Paris from June 8 and highlights from the collection will be exhibited in key cities worldwide this spring.

Sotheby’s is to hold its third series of auctions from the estate of Karl Lagerfeld (1933-2019) this spring following sales last year in Monaco and Paris. On May 4-5 the auction house will stage two live auctions of 300 lots in its new German headquarters at the Palais Oppenheim in Cologne, marking the first live sale held by Sotheby’s in the city since opening its new space there last year.

A further 250 lots will be open for online bidding from April 29-May 6. The selection of objects on offer in Cologne comes primarily from Lagerfeld’s residence in Louveciennes, near Versailles. The collection also includes furnishings, curiosities and Lagerfeld’s personal objects.
