It features a c.1870 beaded buckskin war shirt guided at $75,000-125,000 that belonged to Oglala Lakota Chief George Standing Bear (1835-98), who fought at the Little Bighorn.
Shown here is an 18in (46cm), 1820s-era Comanche warrior’s capture or ‘trophy’ shield used at the 1876 battle by One Hand, a Hunkpapa Sioux and member of Sitting Bull’s Bad Bow Band of the Icira. It has a later Sioux cover.
