I also imagined his dear father, whom one can see sitting alongside, with his arms folded, thinking, “Thank God he’s got that out of his system – now he can get on with important matters. Trouble is, I shall now have to look at the damned thing every time I visit him, and I’ll never hear the end of it.”
They say a picture is worth a thousand words. As a fellow collector, I can certainly appreciate the desire, the passion, and the satisfaction involved.
Even though my own interests are British postal history, and antique, decorated police truncheons, I confess to once fulfilling a more modest childhood dream of buying a dinosaur egg.
