“Our buyers are mostly local but we’ve had quite a few from America, London, Bournemouth and Oxford. Glass is selling well as is vintage jewellery and ceramics,” said Jones whose job at the shop is a full-time occupation.
Both she and Wortans are avid collectors of all things antiques and retro, particularly diecast cars, furniture and jewellery – a joint passion that led to them open the shop.
The nearby Bantock House Museum in Wolverhampton is the backdrop for the regular monthly antiques and collectors’ fairs run since 2014 by Victoria and Paul Rowson with the next on Sunday, April 3.
Back in 2019 they launched a monthly fair at the 18th century Himley Hall, near Dudley in Staffordshire with the next on Sunday April 24. Contact 079766 43174.
