1 How did you get your start?
My very first job back in my hometown of New York City was in an art gallery. Later, I travelled the world as a musician (under the name Brijitte West). I have always enjoyed interior design and the visual arts. The antiques trade has given me an opportunity to combine creativity and decor, while finding hidden treasures.
2 What events do you have coming up?
We have a signed and limited edition event coming up which is running for two weeks from November 10-20. We have over 500 limited edition signed prints from the ‘Who’s Who’ of the art world: Dita Roth, Jim Dine, Matisse, Picasso and Anatoli Kaplan to name a few. We also have some unknown artist’s prints. Prices start from £50 and we will offer framing. I’m excited to be able to be able to offer great art that anyone can afford.
3 What is something you’d love to get your hands on?
If we’re talking pure fantasy it would have to be one of the 14 Black Paintings by Goya. But last time I saw them they were all sitting in the lower floor of the Prado in Madrid – having been hacked off the walls in Goya’s house outside Madrid centuries ago.
4 What is something you secretly hope you’ll never sell?
There is always a slight sadness when I sell things because I do put my heart into every single piece. I would have to say at the moment it’s Cerbero, El Can del Inferno – Canto VI screenprint on silk scarf, signed and titled in the plate, published by Les Heures Claires 1988, by Salvador Dalí.
