Dealer and restorer Graham Butler
1 How did you get your start?
At the age of 14 I began restoring antiques. This obviously ignited my interest and dealing was an extension of my work as a restorer. I first began selling antiques around the age of 23, and my focus is on carved and gilt antique furniture.
2 What events do you have coming up?
On Thursday, December 1, at 7pm, we are holding a Christmas open evening at our four showrooms in Reepham Marketplace.
3 Something you secretly hope you’ll never sell?
Our Queen Anne Mirror with its original detailed gesso cutting.
4 What is one great discovery you have made?
Finding the Jacksons of Dublin label under yellow ochre on the back of a convex mirror, also with Arthur William’s signature inside the backboard.
5 What is one thing you couldn’t do without?
Gold.
